Slack
Slack is a messaging application used for collaborative work. You can use the Chicago Collections Slack channel to ask questions about digital exhibits and find digital exhibit collaborations or subject experts.

Roles

Exhibit/Project Manager: The person in charge of managing the exhibit, including both the content for the exhibit and the timeline for the exhibit. This person also coordinates contact with contributing institutions and the Digital Exhibits Committee.

Exhibit Team: Anyone else in addition to the exhibit/project manager who helps to build the exhibit.

Digital Exhibits Committee: The Chicago Collections committee in charge of reviewing and approving exhibits. They also manage the schedule for exhibits.

Contributing Institutions: Chicago Collections institutions who contribute content to the exhibit. In addition to contributing content, Contributing institutions will review and approve captions and other image information in the digital exhibit during the final approval stage.

Terms

Scalar Media Database: Backend database of media uploaded to Scalar that can be inserted into front-facing exhibits.

Book: Each project in Scalar is known as a "book."
